Gleam is a desktop app for creating app store screenshots, sold at gleamshots.com and operated by Erick Gledson (contact: hello@us.gleamshots.com). This policy covers both the desktop app and the website. The short version: the app works offline, has no accounts and no telemetry, and your screenshots never reach our servers.
Gleam runs entirely on your computer. Projects, screenshots, templates and autosave data are stored locally in your user folder. The app contains no analytics, no tracking and no account system.
Store publishing (optional): if you use the publish feature, your screenshots and related metadata are uploaded directly from your computer to Apple's App Store Connect or Google Play, using API credentials you provide. That traffic goes to Apple or Google, never to us. Their privacy policies apply to it.
Credentials and API keys (optional): store credentials (Apple .p8 keys, Google service account files) and translation API keys are stored in your operating system's secure keychain (macOS Keychain, Windows Credential Manager or Linux libsecret). They never leave your machine and are never sent to us.
AI translation (optional): if you use the translate feature, the text captions of your slides are sent directly from your computer to the provider you chose (DeepL or Anthropic), using your own API key. Only those texts are sent, only when you click translate, and the provider's privacy policy applies. We are not part of that connection.
Automatic updates: the app periodically asks gleamshots.com whether a new version exists. This is a standard web request; like any web request it exposes your IP address to our server, which keeps ordinary short-lived server logs. No account, identifier or usage data is attached.
License activation: license keys are validated locally inside the app, with no activation server. Your purchase email is embedded in the key and displayed in the app for your reference; it is not transmitted anywhere by the app.
Purchases: payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, not to us. We store your email address and your license/download record so we can deliver the product and support you. The purchase confirmation email is sent through Resend.
Trial mailing list (optional): the download page lets you leave an email to receive product updates. This is opt-in, stored in our database and in Resend, and every email includes an unsubscribe link. Leaving the email is not required to download.
Analytics: we use a self-hosted Umami instance. It is cookieless and anonymized: no personal identifiers, no cross-site tracking, and the data never leaves infrastructure we control. We never sell data to anyone.
Cookies: the site itself sets no tracking cookies. Stripe's checkout, when you buy, uses its own cookies under Stripe's policy.
The personal data we hold about you amounts to: your email (if you bought Gleam or joined the list), your license record, and anonymous analytics. Under the GDPR, LGPD and similar laws you can request access, correction or deletion of your data at any time by writing to hello@us.gleamshots.com. Deleting your purchase email will limit our ability to re-send your license.
Gleam is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with an updated date.
